How the Process Works

It may not be your first motor vehicle collision, but it may be your first time seeking representation. At M&T Injury Law, we want to communicate the process, timeline, and steps with our clients at the very start.

Things to know

- There are no out of pocket expenses.
The firm is compensated once your case has resolved. No deposits or upfront fees.
- You do not need to pay for the treatment you receive up front.
Payment for related bills will come from the settlement. M&T will process payment for providers on behalf of our clients.
- Where does the money come from?
Compensation for auto injury claims comes directly from the insurance company, not the individual who caused the collision. M&T will send letters of representation to all involved parties in order to speak on your behalf. Leave the headaches of waiting on call with insurers, opening up claims, gathering your records, or processing health insurance to us.

The Process

1.

The Initial Call: Calling M&T is completely free. Our intake process will gather information and evidence regarding the injury causing event. We will also gather information from the client such as identification, health insurance information, and mailing addresses.

2.
Getting Treatment: After a client has agreed to representation, we will work you to ensure you receive the treatment you need for injuries you have suffered both physical and mental. The value of your case is partially dependent on the treatment you receive due to the collision.
3.
Gathering Evidence: As our clients complete their treatment, we will gather your medical records and bills to present as evidence of your injuries to the insurance company. Note that bills are not limited to just medical treatment. You can be compensated for wages you have lost due to the collision. Other expenses that you incur due to your injuries are also covered for example: a bill for hiring a moving company, home care services, damaged cell phones, car seats, etc.
4.
Negotiations: Once all records and other evidence is collected, M&T will send a monetary demand to the insurance company and begin negotiations. Clients will receive up to date information regarding offers made by the insurance company and what the client stands to recover. If a case cannot resolve at this stage, M&T will work with you on discussing options pertaining to filing a lawsuit.
5.
Resolution Stage: Once a case has resolved either by settlement or judgement, M&T will begin finalizing and accounting of your case. An accounting of your case will be presented to you for signature prior to issuing out checks to treatment providers. We will issue checks to any related outstanding bills directly from the settlement. A separate check will be issued directly to the client. This process ensures that all of your expenses are paid without having to deal with the process yourself.
